What makes it different?

Freestyle Cruising

No fixed dining times, no dress code, no assigned tables. Eat where you want, when you want, how you want. NCL invented this concept.

Go-karts at sea

A two-to-three-level go-kart track on the top deck. Speeds up to 30 mph with ocean views. The only one in cruising.

The Haven

The private ship within the ship. Exclusive restaurant, lounge, sundeck with infinity pool, personal butler. Bigger and more exclusive than other lines' equivalents.

Free at Sea

A near-permanent promotion bundling combinations of drinks, WiFi, shore excursions, specialty dining and free third/fourth guests. Excellent value.

Indulge Food Hall

Gourmet food court with up to 11 international food stations, all included. Only on Prima, Viva, Aqua and Luna. A concept unique to cruising.

Great Stirrup Cay

Private island in the Bahamas with a beach, bar, food and activities. Silver Cove (the premium area) has overwater cabanas and butlers.

Mich's Stateroom Guide

NCL's The Haven is the most luxurious 'ship within a ship' on the market. It includes a private restaurant, lounge with bar, sundeck with an infinity pool, butler and priority on everything. It's comparable to Royal Caribbean's Star Class but with larger exclusive areas and better service.

Inside

$800-2,000 (3-4 nights)

Compact but functional. Prima-class ships have roomier inside cabins than earlier generations.

Mich's Tip: If you're sailing on Prima or Viva, the inside cabins are noticeably better than on the older ships.

Oceanview

$1,000-2,500 (3-4 nights)

Panoramic window. A good middle-ground option.

Mich's Tip: On Breakaway-class ships, the Studio cabins (for solo travelers) are oceanview with no single supplement.

Balcony

$1,500-4,000 (3-4 nights)

Private balcony. The most popular category. Prima-class balconies are more spacious.

Mich's Tip: Ask for a balcony on a mid-to-high deck for the best view. On Prima-class ships, the Ocean Boulevard balconies are one of a kind.

The Haven (Suites)

$4,000-25,000+ (3-4 nights)

A ship within the ship. Suites from Penthouse to Owner's. Private restaurant, lounge, sundeck with infinity pool, 24/7 butler, VIP embarkation, priority reservations.

Mich's Tip: The Haven is the most complete suite experience on the market. The private infinity pool and exclusive sundeck make you never want to leave. For big families, the Haven Family Villas are spectacular.

Kids Clubs

Splash Academy (ages 3-12)

Kids club with age-grouped activities: art, science, active games and shows. Supervised and safe.

Mich's Tip: Good, but not as themed as Disney. Active kids love it — there are lots of physical activities.

Guppies (6 months-3 years)

Program for babies and toddlers with sensory activities and play. A parent must be present.

Mich's Tip: It's not childcare — a parent stays with the child. Great early-stimulation activities though.

Entourage (ages 13-17)

Teen lounge with video games, music, social activities and access to areas like laser tag.

Mich's Tip: NCL teens get access to the go-karts and Galaxy Pavilion, which they love. Better than many competitors' teen programs.
