Do I need a visa to visit France?

U.S. citizens don't need a visa for tourism in France or the Schengen area (up to 90 days). You just need a passport valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure date. Keep in mind the EU will soon launch the ETIAS electronic travel authorization — we'll keep you up to date on the requirements.

How many days do I need?

We recommend 2-3 days for Disney and 3-4 days for Paris — 5-7 nights total. Disney Paris is more compact than Disney World, so you can cover it in fewer days.

Is it better to stay at Disney or in Paris?

For families with young kids, a Disney hotel is more convenient (Early Entry included). If you want more of Paris, a hotel in the city center with the RER train to Disney (40 min) is the better option.

Do they speak English at Disney Paris?

Everything is in French and English, and cast members generally speak English well. The Disney app helps with navigation. The French touch is part of the cultural experience.

How much does a Disney Paris trip cost?

Family of 4, 6 nights: $3,000-$7,000 USD. That covers flights, hotel, Disney tickets and your days in Paris. It runs higher than Orlando because of the transatlantic flight.

Flights

Nonstop flights to Paris (CDG) are available from most major U.S. hubs with Air France, Delta, United and American. From smaller cities, expect one connection.

Visa

No visa required for U.S. citizens (tourism up to 90 days in the Schengen area). Your passport should be valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure. It's smart to carry proof of your hotel, travel insurance and return flight in case immigration asks. The EU's ETIAS electronic authorization is coming soon.

Language

French and English. Everything at Disney is bilingual (FR/EN). In Paris, English is widely spoken in tourist areas. Translation apps are handy for everything else.

Currency

Euro (EUR), close in value to the U.S. dollar. Cards are accepted everywhere. We recommend a card with no foreign transaction fees.

Time zone

CET (UTC+1) — several hours ahead of the U.S. Jet lag lasts 2-3 days; we recommend arriving a day before your first Disney day.

Disneyland Paris sits just outside the city (about 35 km from central Paris), so staying at a resort hotel really pays off: you're steps from the parks, you get Extra Magic Time, and you can dedicate a couple of nights without losing time to transfers.
