Tokyo Disney Resort

Tokyo, Japan

Disney with Japanese perfection

Tokyo Disney Resort is considered by many the best Disney resort in the world, thanks to that famous Japanese attention to detail. DisneySea is a one-of-a-kind park that exists only in Tokyo, with Fantasy Springs (2024) as its newest jewel. Combined with the experience of visiting Japan — incredible food, fascinating culture and legendary hospitality — it's a trip of a lifetime.

Travel logistics

Everything you need to know to travel from Mexico.

Flights

Nonstop flights to Tokyo (Narita or Haneda) depart from major U.S. hubs — ANA, JAL, United, Delta and American all fly the route. From other cities, expect one connection.

Visa

No visa required for U.S. citizens (stays up to 90 days). Passport should have 6+ months of validity. You receive an automatic tourist entry stamp on arrival.

Language

Japanese. Disney has signage in English and Japanese. Google Translate with the camera is essential. Japanese kindness makes up for any language barrier.

Currency

Japanese yen (JPY). Approximate exchange rate: 1 USD = 150 JPY. Japan still runs on a lot of cash — we recommend carrying yen plus a card with no foreign transaction fees.

Time zone

JST (UTC+9) — a big time difference from the U.S. Jet lag is significant; we recommend arriving 1-2 days before your main activities.

Best time to visit

September and January-February have the lightest crowds. April brings cherry blossoms (magical but busy). Avoid August (extreme heat) and Golden Week (early May).

Recommended

Low season

January, February, June, September

Lighter crowds. June is rainy but the parks look gorgeous. September brings Halloween. January-February are cold but manageable.

Shoulder season

April, May, October, November

Cherry blossoms in April, Halloween in October, Christmas starting in November. Golden Week (late April-early May) is Japan's local peak.

High season

March, July-August, December

Spring break, summer and Christmas. August is the busiest month (Obon + summer). December has spectacular decorations.
