How Much Does a Disney World Trip Cost in 2026?

Updated: 2026-06-12 · by Mich Murrieta Viajes

If you're planning your first trip to Walt Disney World, the first question is always the same: how much is this going to cost us? Here's the short, honest answer: a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) spends between $2,800 and $11,000 USD for 7 nights, depending mostly on which hotel you pick and when you travel. That's before flights, which for most US families run a few hundred dollars per person round trip.

In this guide we break down every dollar: hotel, park tickets, food and extras, with the real ranges we use to quote trips every single day. By the end you'll know exactly what budget to plan for YOUR family.

How much does a Disney World trip cost in total?

For a family of 4 for 7 nights: from $2,800 USD with a Value resort, $4,200 USD with a Moderate and $6,500 USD with a Deluxe. That covers hotel, park tickets and food — flights not included.

Hotel tierNightsPrice range (USD)
Disney Value (Pop Century, All-Star)7$2,800 – $4,500
Disney Moderate (Caribbean Beach)7$4,200 – $6,800
Disney Deluxe (Polynesian, Contemporary)7$6,500 – $11,000

Includes hotel + park tickets + food for 2 adults and 2 kids. Flights not included.

The hotel is the single decision that moves your budget the most: the gap between a Value and a Deluxe can be over $4,000 USD in one week. The good news: ALL Disney on-property hotels — even the Value tier — include free transportation to the parks and Early Entry.

How much are the park tickets?

Tickets are date-based: from ~$119 USD per day in the low season up to ~$209 USD at Christmas. The more days you add, the lower the per-day price: a 7-day ticket drops to ~$93 USD per day.

That's why adding days is almost always worth it: going from 4 to 5 park days costs surprisingly little, and it completely changes the pace of the trip (you can't really see the Disney World parks in under 4 days without rushing).

If you want to add Lightning Lane (the skip-the-line system), budget between $15 and $45 USD per person per day — highly recommended in peak season, optional in the low season.

When is Disney World cheapest?

The cheapest months are September (after Labor Day), mid-to-late January (after the holidays) and the first half of February. The difference vs. peak season can be 20% to 50% of the total cost.

Christmas week and Spring Break are the most expensive weeks of the year — and the most crowded. If your dates are flexible, shifting the trip by 2 weeks can save you thousands of dollars.

Disney also releases promotions throughout the year (hotel discounts of up to 25%, free dining plans on select dates). Part of our job as an agency is to watch for them and apply them to your existing reservation automatically — at no cost to you.

How much should we budget for food?

Between $40 USD per person per day (quick service) and $120+ USD (table-service restaurants). A realistic middle ground for families: ~$75 USD per person per day.

Insider tip: reservations for the most in-demand restaurants (Be Our Guest, Space 220, Oga's Cantina) open 60 days out and are gone within minutes. We grab them for you — it's one of the things families thank us for the most.

How can we save on a Disney trip?

  • Travel in the low season (September, January, first half of February).
  • Pick a Value resort on Disney property: budget-friendly price WITH the perks of staying on-site.
  • Add park days (the per-day price drops) instead of rushing between parks.
  • Do quick service during the day and save 1-2 special table-service dinners with reservations.
  • Book through a certified travel agency (it's free): we apply Disney's current promotions to your reservation and keep watching in case a better one comes out.

Can we pay in installments?

Yes. Disney packages are held with a deposit (usually $200 USD) and paid in full ~30 days before the trip — you can make payments at your own pace for months.

This is how most of our families travel: they lock in the trip with a small deposit, fix their price, and pay it off month by month. No interest involved — it's Disney's official payment plan.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Disney World cost for a family of 4?

Between $2,800 and $11,000 USD for 7 nights depending on the hotel tier (Value, Moderate or Deluxe). That includes hotel, park tickets and food; flights are extra — typically a few hundred dollars per person round trip, depending on your home airport and dates.

What is the cheapest month to go to Disney World?

September (after Labor Day) and January (after the holidays) have the lowest hotel and ticket prices — and shorter lines too.

Do kids need a ticket at Disney World?

Kids under 3 get into all the parks free. Ages 3 to 9 pay the child rate (slightly lower than adult); ages 10 and up pay adult prices.

How much does it cost to use a travel agency for Disney?

With us, nothing: our planning service is 100% free. Disney pays the commission directly — you pay the same as booking on your own, but with an expert on your side.

How far in advance should we book Disney World?

6 to 12 months out is the sweet spot: hotel availability is best, dining reservations open 60 days before check-in, and you get the longest runway to pay in installments. Booking early also lets us apply any new Disney promotion to your reservation later.
